Cuyo
Cuyo

Cuyo region is comprised by La Rioja, San Juan, Mendoza, San Luis. It is the “country of deserts” in indigenous language; it is the region of the high peaks, the volcanoes covered with snow and the wide space that extends from los Andes and the pre-mountain range up to the steppe plain.

The visit to the Natural Parks Ischigualasto – Talampaya (Humanity’s Natural Patrimony) is a real trip back to the dinosaurs’ era. Ischigualasto, also called “Valle de la Luna” (Moon’s Valley) because of the amazing shapes and colours of its landscapes carved by the erosion, is one of the most important paleontological fields of the world. The Talampaya River’s canyon amazes the tourists with the multiform folds of its reddish and high walls.
Pink flamingos, Cordillera’s ducks, vicunas and guanacos live freely together in parks and natural reserves, under the silent condors’ flight.

The region shows the Central Andes in all its splendour: the Aconcagua Hill (6959 m.), the maximum height of the western hemisphere. A cold white mantle covers the incredible Cordillera’s slopes that are enjoyed by skiers of all latitudes.

In La Rioja, Mendoza and San Juan’s valleys you can go along the wine route through vine leaves, country farms and wine cellars. An elixir that has achieve the international recognition.
