Llanquihue city is situated next to Llanquihué lake, opposite the Osorno volcano. Its name means immersed, it is situated at 27 km from Puerto Montt and is between Puerto Varas (7km) and Frutillar (19 km). It has 16337 inhabitants.

The town was born when German villagers who arrive here built the first dock. The tourist could visit the typical square and the Cecinas Lanquihue factory.

In January and February the visitor could have the possibility to enjoy and take part in the National Folclore meeting next to the lake or the Bierfest (German tradition). In February there are the summer activities and in July the theatre season.
