Malargüe is in the south -west of Mendoza. It is situated in a zone where there has been lava spilling which contributed to the formation of the Payún . It is situated in an important mine district. In  Malargüe there is an important petroleum exploitation in Llacanelo basin and uranium in Huemul mine.

From Malargüe the tourist will have the easiest way to the most famous skiing center called Las Leñas. The possibilities are a lot and the landscape is amazing, the visitor will enjoy the view of mountains and lagoons which have turned this city into an important capital of adventure tourism.
