Santiago de Chile is the city capital of Chile. The economic, cultural, industrial and political activities are concentrated in this city. It was founded on 14 February in 1541  in the valley of Mapocho river, bellow the hill Santa Lucia by  Pedro de Valdivia

It is situated in the central valley between the Costa and Andes mountain ranges. The imposing presence of the mountain range in the valley can be seen through the hills San Cristobal and Santa Lucia

There is a warm temperature almost all the year. It has a mediterranean weather with little variation between winter and summer
The city has important traditional places most of which are cultural ones, such as La Casa Colorada (1769), El Puente de Calicanto (1780), el Palacio de la Moneda (1805), la Alameda de las Delicias (1820), el Cementerio General,  and the building of the Congreso Nacional (1875)

Santiago is said to be one of the best places for tourism because among short distances visitors can do different activities due to its geographical position. The range of activities goes from going to the desert or to wonderful beaches to go skiing in no more than 4 hours of travelling
