Viña del Mar is situated at 112 km to the north of Santiago opposite the Pacific Ocean and in the mouth of Marga Marga.

It is also known by the name of Ciudad Jardín. It is a remarkable tourist and industrial center and has also one of the best known beaches and a host city of the International Song Festival.

Among its industrial activities it can be seen the production of vegetable oils, fruit process and also the production of petrochemical products, wines and soap
The city has beautiful mansions, luxurious hotels, parks, gardens, social clubs, theatre, sports facilities such as the racetrack or the famous Valparaiso Sporting Club and wide beaches
There is also the Cerro Castillo palace which is the summer residence of the presidents.
